
About the Role
Paramedics provide the highest level of pre-hospital care including advanced cardiac life support, trauma care, and pharmacological interventions. They lead the patient care team and are responsible for making critical decisions in life- threatening situations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Paramedic certification (state and/or national)
Current CPR, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS certifications
Ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 150 pounds
Extensive knowledge of ALS protocols including advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, and pharmacology
Strong leadership and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience as a paramedic
Experience with both urban and rural EMS systems
Additional certifications
Familiarity with advanced medical equipment such as ventilators and infusion pumps
Responsibilities
Lead the EMS team in providing ALS care to patients including advanced airway management, defibrillation, and pharmacological interventions
Perform thorough patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans
Safely administer medications and perform invasive procedures as required
Operate and maintain advanced medical equipment including ventilators and cardiac monitors
Accurately document patient care activities including assessments, interventions, and outcomes
Provide training and mentorship to EMTs and AEMTs
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
