
About the Role
EMTs provide basic life support (BLS) and per-hospital emergency care to patients in various medical and traumatic conditions. They operate as part of a team under the supervision of a Paramedic or Advanced EMT.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid EMT certification (state and/or national)
Current CPR certification
Ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 125 pounds
Knowledge of BLS protocols, including airway management, CPR, AED usage, and hemorrhage control
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in and EMS setting
Additional certifications such as PHTLS, EVOC/VKF, or First Responder
Knowledge of the local healthcare facilities and their capabilities
Responsibilities
Provide BLS care to patients including wound care, splinting, and basic airway management
Safely operate and maintain EMS vehicles and equipment
Accurately document patient assessments, care provided, and other relevant information
Assist paramedics and advanced EMTs during patient care and transport
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of equipment and vehicles
Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols
