
About the Role
The EMS Operator is responsible for safely operating emergency and non-emergency vehicles, ensuring that patients and medical personnel are transported securely and promptly. The role involves regular vehicle inspections, adherence to traffic laws, and a commitment to public safety.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
Minimum of 2 years experience; preferably in an emergency or transport setting
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Strong knowledge of local geography and roadways
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in an EMS or healthcare environment
CPR and First Aid certification
EVOC and VKF certification or equivalent
Responsibilities
Safely operate EMS vehicles during emergency and non-emergency transports
Assist EMTs and Paramedics in loading and unloading patients
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on vehicles
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicles interior and exterior
Accurately document transport activities and mileage
Communicate effectively with dispatch and medical personnel
